Contributing To The Uniform English Writing Style Guide

The Uniform English Writing Style Guide requires a lot of work and I cannot do it all by myself. I am always open to constructive criticism, new ideas, and corrections; while I carefully weigh and thus do not accept every submission, I am grateful for all the helpful contributions that others have made to this work. If you want to become a contributor, here is what you need to do:

  1. 1. Prayerfully think about the change you would like to see in the UEWSG. Consider if it addresses a very common use case or something relatively obscure, how the change would affect other parts of the guide, if the idea has internal contradictions, if it would be overly burdensome to implement, if the change is in keeping with other orthographic and typographic customs and would be widely understood by authors and reader, etc.

  2. 2. Write out your idea. Detail exactly where the change should be made (I need at least a division number!) and if you think your work should be integrated verbatim or if it is just a general idea.

  3. 3. Contact me. By contributing, you *certify* that you are releasing your contribution under the same license as the rest of the UEWSG; contributions under other licenses or restrictions cannot be accepted.

  4. ^ Indicate if you would like to be publicly listed as a contributor. This public listing is strictly *opt-in*; if you do not opt-in, your contribution will remain anonymous. If you do want to opt-in, please clearly state so in your communication and provide the name you would like the contribution to be made under.
